Roberto Veiga won a total of 18 medals in the 18 events he competed in: 10 golds, 4 silvers and 4 bronzes, especially in the disciplines of Swimming, Lifesaving and Lifeguarding.
After his successes, Veiga declared: ‘Objective more than achieved and completely surprised by the results’. With the competition still underway, everything points to him being the athlete with the highest number of medals in this edition of the championships.
Despite his impressive results, Veiga continues to look to the future with ambition and has pointed out that his next challenge will be the World Championships in the United States. ‘It’s time to rest and focus on the next goal,’ he said.
