The mayor of Ciudad Real, Paco Cañizares, presented the medals of the Pozo de Don Gil, “which gave rise to the city and which serves as recognition of the government team”.
The representatives of the capital’s police force won a total of 8 medals: 1 gold, 2 silver and 5 bronze medals. In the ‘Over 59’ category, Francisco Javier ‘Susín’, a retired local policeman, won two bronze medals: discus throw and archery. Sub-inspector Eugenio Guzmán, another bronze in precision shooting.
On the other hand, officer Cipriano Abad won another bronze in athletics, specifically in the long jump. Police officer Nicolás Muñoz won the only gold medal of the Ciudarrealeña delegation, in Olympic Trench, as well as the silver medal in team events. Muñoz also won silver in Universal Trench and bronze in team events.
