A local police officer from Lanzarote returned to her town with ten gold medals and two silver medals

Tías Town Council welcomed Lucía Franco, an officer with the Tías Local Police, in recognition of the 12 medals – 10 gold and 2 silver – she won at the Vigo Games.

The officer was welcomed by the mayor, José Juan Cruz, the deputy mayor, Nicolás Saavedra, the councillor for Economy and Finance, Tomás Silvera, and the chief officer of the Tías Local Police, José Antonio Hernández.

In weightlifting, she won four golds – in the snatch, clean and jerk, combined and open categories. In powerlifting, she also secured a further four golds across the squat, bench press, deadlift and combined events.

In CrossFit, she was crowned champion with two golds in the RX individual and RX pairs events. Finally, Lucía Franco took silver in the individual 9 mm pistol precision shooting event and silver in the team event in the same discipline.
