Eleven medals for a firefighter from Elda (Alicante)

Athlete Walter Arza has won seven team medals and four individual medals this weekend in the rowing and tower-climbing events held in Vigo.

After winning gold in the 2,000-metre rowing event and silver in the 500-metre event, Arza added to his medal haul in the tower climbing events, where he secured two further individual medals.

On the final day of competition, the Elda-born athlete was crowned champion in the stair-climbing event without firefighting equipment, whilst in the event with equipment he secured the bronze medal.

Added to these results are four team golds in the tower-climbing events, in both the men’s and mixed categories, with and without firefighting equipment.
