Local police officer Rubén Colchero returned to Calatayud with five golds, one silver and one bronze

His outstanding performance began on the athletics track with a bronze medal in the 1,500-metre flat race. He subsequently demonstrated his potential on the bike by being crowned team champion alongside the Ertzaina and Police Spain combined team in the road cycling, hill climb and individual time trial events.

His versatility was also evident in the road sprint duathlon, where he won individual silver and added another team gold with Police and Fire Spain, rounding off his successful campaign with another team victory in the gruelling trail running event with Police Spain.

This year, Colchero was awarded the Silver Medal for Professional Merit, a municipal honour granted in recognition of his twenty-year career in the police force.
