The Salamanca Local Police returned home with 20 medals

A total of 17 members of the force participated in a dozen different disciplines at the Games, winning ten gold, five silver and five bronze medals.

Specifically, sub-inspector Francisco José Cívicos won two gold medals, one silver and one bronze in the 5 km night race and half marathon; sub-inspector Rubén Mena won three gold medals and one silver in the same two disciplines; and sub-inspector Daniel Herrero won two gold medals, one silver and one bronze in the disciplines of road duathlon, 5 km night race and half marathon.

For his part, officer José Carlos Prats won a gold and a silver medal in the 5,000 metre walk and the long jump; officer Raúl Portilla a bronze medal in the road duathlon; officer Manuel Romero a gold and a silver medal in the 5 km night race and the half marathon; and officer Pablo Hernández two bronze medals in kickboxing and boxing. Finally, agent María Pedraz, together with the canine agent Afri, won the gold medal in the category of ‘K9’ canine agents – detection of substances.
