Two firefighters from Zamora win five gold medals and one silver

Óscar Borrego Prieto, a firefighter with the City of Zamora, and Juan García Diego, a firefighter with the Valladolid Provincial Council, won a combined total of six medals in the individual and doubles canoeing events.

In the K2 200-meter race, Óscar and Juan took first place and the corresponding gold medal.

They repeated this feat in the K2 1,000-meter race, where they once again outpaced their rivals to win another European gold.

They earned the rest of their medals in individual competitions.
